At Raritan Yacht Club the social life is equal only to the sailing life. Whether it’s in the bar, having dinner with friends in our excellent galley, learning new skills together, or enjoying our numerous parties, there are lots of great ways to spend time with old friends as well as meet like minded new ones.

With the exception of the month of January, the RYC Bar and Galley are open all year. During the off season months, dinner is served on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights with lunch served on Saturday and Sunday. From Launch Day in the Spring to Haulout in the Fall, the bar and galley are also open Wednesday nights when the house fills with racing skippers and their crew members fresh off the race course an full of on the water tales of derring do. Many an avowed non racer has been beguiled by their enthusiasm and coerced with invitations to 'just try it' only to be caught up in the excitement and inevitably becoming regular participants. What better way to break up the work week than a Wednesday evening sail on the bay?

But there are more than Wednesday Night parties; RYC parties year round. We kick-off the year with our New Year’s Eve celebration and close it out in December with the Change of Command Dinner. The Change of Command is a formal dinner event where outgoing officers are saluted for their service and incoming Flag Officers and Board of Governors are 'piped aboard' with all the pomp and tradition befitting one of the oldest Yacht Clubs. Holiday events include Childrens Party, Trim a Tree and Holiday Egg Nog Party.

Throughout the rest of the year there’s always something going on – live music in the Grill Room, jazz brunches, Spring Bash, Caribbean Party, 50’s Party  and our famous Progressive Dinner in the mooring field. For two weekends each year, one In July and the second in mid September, RYC hosts the Red Grant Regatta and the Fall Regatta. Both are full weekend celebrations with a charity event on Friday - Saturday Night Regatta parties with live bands, a barbecue complete with an oyster roast.

Last but not least, we offer a wide range of opportunities to learn. The RYC Education Committee organizes monthly dinners with guest speakers who lecture on topics ranging from boat engine and rigging maintenance to sailing 'round the world. We also have single day safety-at-sea seminars, cocktail hour seminars on topics like taking command and tools for your boat, CPR training, and classes that run over multiple weekends for earning a Captain’s License and on-the-water Introduction to Sailing.
