Notice of Race – Macan Series

The Macan Series honors the late PC Nelson J. Macan, an RYC member from 1908 until 1960. He was very active in club functions, was an exalted sailor, and superb racer.  Over his life he contributed significantly to RYC’s growth, progress, and our racing program.  He proudly served the Club with many terms on RYC’s Board of Governors, as Vice-Commodore (1914-1916), and as Commodore (1924-1925). To his superior seamanship, his excellent sportsmanship, and in his memory, the members of Raritan Yacht Club dedicate this race series.

The Macan Series will be staged over the course of three days.  Race 1 is scheduled for a Friday evening. Note the later start time for the race day. The other two will be sailed on weekends. One or more races can be sailed on weekends, and the format of the race is at the Race Committee’s discretion (windward/leeward and/or around the buoys).  

Divisions: Division A (spinnaker), Division B (non-spinnaker)

Throw-Outs: If four or more races are completed there will be one throw-out
