RYC is offering the ASA 105 - Coast Navigation course this spring. Learn to apply navigational theory and practices for safe navigation of a sailing vessel in coastal and inland waters. Attendees must be able to attend all 5 sessions: -
Session 1 – [evening 6:00 –9:00 pm, Mar 12]: Covers general knowledge topics and basic plotting
- Session 2 – [evening 6:00 –9:00 pm, Mar 19]: Covers dead reckoning navigation and bearings and fixes
- Session 3 – [evening 6:00 –9:00 pm, Mar 26]: Introduces advanced plotting taking into account current and leeway
- Session 4 – [weekend 10:00 –4:00 pm, Mar 30]: Completes advanced plotting taking into account current and leeway + adds tides and currents

Session 5 – [weekend 10:00 –4:00 pm, Apr 6]: Review followed by test.
