420 Summer Racing Program

RYC Launches Club 420 Racing Program in 2024!

The Raritan Yacht Club is happy to announce an Advanced 420 Racing Program for this summer. This program is set up for our juniors to continue their race training under our best coaches, Kim Sinatra and others, serving as a bridge to high school and college sailing. We will attend three organized regattas (two away) and run a practice regatta or two @ RYC. If you have your own boat you are encouraged to bring it as we have a limited number of 420’s available. If you would like, sign-up for both sessions, time on the tiller and in the boat is a major contributor to success. We have two sessions this year, four days per week, Monday -Tuesday, Thursday - Friday from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Please note that the first session start date is different from the regular classes.

What's Required??

1. A completed medical form and permission slip. This will be mailed to you after we receive your application and payment. Please bring the completed forms to the first day of classes. A completed medical form and permission slip are required for student participation.

2. All students must pass a basic swimming test, with and without the required PFD. You are responsible for supplying a PFD (LIFE JACKET) that fits and that the student will wear every day.

3. Lunches and a jug of water or drink. Pack a bag with sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, towel, a change of clothes, and a sweatshirt.

4. Dress for the weather, we do go out in light rain.

5. A positive attitude and a desire to learn and improve!

Cost and Sign-up Info:

Cost for all participants is $1,000 for one session or $1,800 or both session. At this point the program is filled for the summer of 2024.  Please check back with us in Jan 2025 to signup for next year!
